In modern society, women are often times objectified to the point where they just become a body and lose their identity as a human being. Their body becomes the focal point, the first thing that people tend to look at and judge a woman based upon that. With this series, I chose to take 6 different models that had qualities that would be deemed as “flaws”. I photographed each of those flaws as well as the models themselves. Using specific lighting, I made the faces dark and unrecognizable to further show that women lose their identity because their body becomes who they are. I set up my lighting to specifically bring the flaws out to the fullest extent and lit the bodies enough just so you could make out their shape. I feel very strongly about this issue, as it is such a prevalent one in the world today and this was my way of showcasing it.
